The brief was to connect with their new record while ensuring the tour identity stood apart. Response: The concept taken forward was a reimagining of the iconic Tongue&nbsp; in a shard-like style that echoed the album title. Colours would be limited to red, straight black and a slight off-white both for punch and grittiness. I pushed a deliberately messy approach to typography, using varied sizes and orientations. This was then refined into a set of text lockups with defined scale relationships for ease of rollout. Thinkfarm was briefed with shifting its perception without losing its familiar identity. Research showed the brand needed to display a confidence that chimed with empowered female listeners.&nbsp; Response: For the campaign I developed a headline type lockup that was bold and advert-worthy but kept the lightness with lower-case type on a rising angle, topped with a subtle glow effect. It works both as a single line and stacked for a variety of formats. The campaign was a chance to update the overall visual brand. They approached me to design their upcoming Swiss blockchain market report, including cover illustration and a reusable template to set the visual style for future reports. CVVC’s previous reports were utilitarian, with functional layouts and colour limited to dark blue. For the cover illustration, I pushed this motif into 3D, a direction that went on to define later report covers. Meanwhile, layouts emphasised linear alignment and bold graphic elements in a vibrant purple from the secondary palette. They also required bespoke data visualisation, from simple timelines to quantitative charts and flow diagrams. All layouts balanced expressive design with practical usability. Response: We had to formalise and modify the brand guidelines based on practical use to suit the applications and rollout that we would be engaging in. To ensure consistency, I systematised grids, title styles, text styles, and the use of graphic elements, from icons to diagrams.My role extended to briefing in copywriting and artworking, project management, and liaising with the client. Similar to Burial’s musical influences, blackletter styles bridge myth and modernity. So I adapted this style to be more vertical and condensed to reflect the urban environment, and applied diagonal hairlines inspired by glitch effects. Archangel also has OpenType alternatives for the capital letters. James Usill produced the glitch art presented here. The design challenge was to combine a sense of legal authority with sensitivity, tackling both reluctance and low awareness among potential users.Response: A handwritten “My” with underline in the logo conveys the personal side of planning, while “Intent” in Crimson — a modern serif — suggests trust and rigour. The wider system is carried by a Crimson/Open Sans font pairing, and a colour palette which is bright while at the same time avoids appearing frivolous or saccharine. The website, as the primary touchpoint for introducing the brand, needed a structure that worked for both at-need and forward-planning. Managers in smaller businesses juggle many roles, so need intuitive tools to meet their goals. Response: I designed and systematised a logo and set of clean geometric graphics to represent the product’s user-friendly, component-based structure. A warm, bright colour palette and integrated use of people photography reflects the nature of customer relations and small business life. I was initially asked to create a sub-brand to mark their 10th anniversary, but the strength of the early concepts led to a decision to refresh the charity’s entire visual identity. The aim was to align the brand with a new vision of confidence and determination.Response: The refreshed identity made the name Action Through Enterprise more prominent and assertive, while credibility was reinforced with a stronger visual link to Ghana’s national symbols. The novel describes a totalitarian state, exploring themes such as propaganda, control, and political language. I fleshed out Oceania’s visual system with insignia, product design, and posters. I also developed a monospace typeface, Newtype, for use with Oceania’s computer systems such as speakwrites and novel writing machines. Their power lay in bold illustration, and structural typography suggesting modernity and aggression.
