The idea for this typeface design came from Burial, a British electronic musician. His music is a dark, ambient evolution of UK rave music into something altogether darker and more romantic. From this mix of associations I wanted to produce a modern blackletter face, with heavy vertical weight and diagonal hairline elements inspired by glitch effects. I incorporated OpenType features that offer alternative glyphs for capital letters.

I collaborated with James Usill who produced the glitch art presented with the typeface here. The font is available for download at Creative Market.
