Magic Radio is a UK household name, Bauer Media’s most established mainstream easy-listening radio brand. Thinkfarm was briefed with shifting its perception without losing its familiar identity. Research among Magic’s mostly female core audience suggested the brand needed to display a confidence that chimed with empowered listeners. The campaign idea that was taken forward, ‘It’s glow time’, would present the brand in a sharper, more stylish light.

The creative centred on carefully styled dancers framing presenters in a clean studio space. So while lockup was bold and advert-worthy, I kept the lightness with lower-case type on a rising angle, topped with a subtle glow effect. I built two versions for flexibility across digital and out-of-home executions.

The campaign design in turn presented a way forward for updating the overall visual brand. I worked on the logo update, created a new typeface system, and developed gradient-based graphics with strong potential for social media, in-studio visuals, and wider brand collateral.
